Gerald Sseruwagi

A young boy grows up in war-ravaged Uganda, Africa, in the 1970’s, during the brutal rule of Dictator Iddi Amin Dada. He experiences abject poverty, disease, fear and rejection from his own family after becoming a Christian. When he is disowned by his father and chased away from his home because of his faith, he starts wondering the dangerous streets of Kampala.

A destitute child seeking refuge, water, food and a loving family, he came to a crossroads with himself and the world. It didn’t seem possible that this boy would survive, much less accomplish so much for himself as well as his community when he became a man. He was once a desperate boy on the verge of oblivion, but today he is a responsible adult with great opportunities for God’s kingdom, and his name is Gerald Sseruwagi.

“Had it not been for the grace of God and saving power of Christ, calling me to Himself at an early age,” he says, “my life would have turned out like many of my countrymen and women –some of whom lost direction, hope, and lacked a spiritual compass to sustain their unstable youth days and adult lives.”

Gerald was trained at His Hill Bible School, Texas Bible College and the Reformed Theological Seminary, where he earned a M.A. in Theology and an M.A.in Education. He did further post graduate studies at the University of Potchefstroomse in South Africa. He received his Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Organizational Leadership from the University of the Incarnate Word.

Now known as Dr. Sseruwagi, he sits on boards of several organizations and currently heads Impact Leadership, an organization which develops private and nonprofit institutions worldwide; building their leadership competence for result-oriented and impact outcomes.  He has served the body of Christ and others through discipleship of men and teaching throughout several African countries, Europe, India, Barbados and the United States.  Impact Leadership is a ministry that builds leaders and develops organization in order to effectively impact Africa with the gospel.

He resides in Kigali, Rwanda, and is married to his lovely wife, Robina. They are blessed with four beautiful children.
